Greenfield project

“What care I how time advances, I am drinking ale today.”

— Edgar Allan Poe

Despite the many covid related challenges, the development of the Farmhouse Brewery took less than one year and it was literally greenfield.

On 8th of May 2021, to be precise, the ground was broken at a former mango plantation outside the city of Nsawam. After the preparation of foundations and substructure, the assembly of our industrial building started at the end of June.

In the meantime, no less than eighteen 40’ containers arrived on site containing the utility, brewery and filling equipment.

Although the cutting of some trees was unavoidable, the design of the brewery was done with the greatest care for the environment. Our aim was to blend into the serene farmland setting, covered with mango and other types of trees. Furthermore, we are re-establishing active farming at our site, by growing some of our inputs on site.

With the assembly of the building nearing completion, our MEP contractor geared up to commence all electrical and plumbing works while a team of Belgian engineers arrived at the end of September for the installation works of the brewhouse, fermentation block, and filling lines. After testing the plant, a first brew was completed on 2nd of March 2022.
